Knowing God

Written by kathleen on Sep 02, 2013

You were created to know God. He may also have other purposes for your life, but they are all centered on His desire for you to be in relationship with Him as Lord and to know Him intimately. Many know the name Jesus but few know Him. Our goal is to help you nurture this relationship so you can know Him. But how? Jesus taught that our relationship with God is multifaceted and must employ all our faculties. Jesus gave His Great Commandment:

” Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” (Mark 12:30)

Here Jesus Commands us to know and love God by using:

  • Our heart and soul:  God tells us that He wants to be the center of our being, the core of our passions and desires.
  • Our mind:  You are unique. Think of it: In all of creation, only people (you) are made in God’s image. God has given you the capacity and desire to ponder His greatness, glory and person. Quite a responsibility.
  • Our strength:  Ultimately it is our actions that reveal our heart. Much like the gas gauge on your car our actions serve as the indicator of what is in our heart. While we may be able to temporally muster up a certain actions to portray ourselves in a certain light, ultimately it is our ongoing actions that reveal the real heart, the real soul.

We want to help you know and love Jesus. We place great emphasis on knowing the heart of God as we study the Bible together. We also offer personal one-on-one discipleship programs to give you Biblical answers to your personal questions about God.
